Must-Watch OTT Releases This Week is exactly the phrase I typed into my own notes app on Sunday night, because September 14 to September 20, 2026, is genuinely one of the busiest streaming weeks I’ve tracked all year.

For me, this is easily one of the strongest OTT release weeks of 2026 so far when it comes to star power and audience interest. Titles such as Lust Stories 3, Neagley, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 Season 2 and Slow Horses Season 6 are likely to dominate conversations among streaming fans.

The timing is also interesting. Mid-September is an important period for streaming platforms as audiences start moving into the festive season and spending more time planning what they want to watch during upcoming holidays.

1. Lust Stories 3 (Netflix): Releasing September 18, 2026

• Cast: Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal, Gurfateh Pirzada 

The Lust Stories franchise returns for a third round, and honestly, the director line-up alone makes this one of the Must-Watch OTT Releases This Week for me.

 Four filmmakers, four completely different tones, one anthology,  that’s been the winning formula since the first film, and having Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Ashi Dua’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment back behind the camera keeps continuity intact even with new directors on board.  

Expect one segment to lean playful, one uncomfortable, one quietly devastating, that contrast is always the anthology’s biggest strength, and it’s exactly why it’s grabbed a Top 10 spot within days of release in each of its first two outings.  

If you enjoyed the earlier instalments, block out roughly 2 hours this Friday.

2. Neagley (Amazon Prime Video): Releasing September 16, 2026

• Platform: Amazon Prime Video 

• Release Date: September 16, 2026 (all 8 episodes at once) 

• Genre: Action / Detective drama 

• Lead Cast: Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, with Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, Damon Herriman 

• Guest Star: Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher 

The Reacher universe officially expands this week, and it’s the spinoff a lot of fans have wanted since Season 1.  

Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley steps out of Jack Reacher’s shadow and into her own show, set in Chicago, where she runs a private investigation agency and gets pulled into a case after a friend from her past is killed in what looks like a suspicious accident. 

Two details make this stand out among this week’s Must-Watch OTT Releases This Week picks: first, unlike Reacher, this show isn’t adapted from a Lee Child novel, it’s an original story built specifically for television by showrunners Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton. 

 Second, all 8 episodes drop simultaneously, so it’s built for a proper weekend binge rather than a weekly wait. It also lands the same day Reacher Season 4 wraps up its finale, so Amazon has clearly designed this as a direct hand-off for fans finishing one show and immediately starting another. 

Why it’s on my Must-Watch OTT Releases This Week list: it’s a rare action spinoff that isn’t just cashing in on a side character, it genuinely gives Neagley new stakes and a new world to operate in. 

3. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 (Netflix): Releasing September 17, 2026

• Platform: Netflix 

• Release Date: September 17, 2026 (all 10 episodes) 

• Format: Animated series, set in winter 1985, between Seasons 2 and 3 of the live-action show 

The core Stranger Things story wrapped its live-action run back on New Year’s Eve 2025, but the franchise isn’t done, this animated spinoff picks up in the gap between Seasons 2 and 3, with Eleven, Mike, Max, Lucas, Will and Dustin dealing with a Valentine’s Day-themed threat and new creatures bleeding through from the Upside Down.  

Season 1 premiered back in April 2026 to a mixed 63% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, and viewership was modest, around 23.9 million hours logged and 4.9 million views in its Top 10 run, so this is very much a “for the fans” watch rather than a guaranteed global smash.  

Still, if you grew up with the original show, seeing familiar character designs return in a Saturday morning-cartoon style is a nostalgia hit worth 10 quick episodes. 

Why it’s on my Must-Watch OTT Releases This Week list: it’s the only new Stranger Things content releasing in 2026 outside reruns, and the fast turnaround (just 5 months between seasons) means the story keeps moving.

• Irumudi (Telugu, OTT): Ravi Teja’s regional action hit lands on streaming this week, a solid pick for South Indian action fans. 

• Toxic (Kannada): Yash and Kiara Advani’s gangster-action film continues its OTT rollout with multiple language versions. 

• Modha Rathiri and other regional titles: several Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu releases are also dropping across JioHotstar and Sun NXT this week, keeping the regional slate just as busy as the English and Hindi one.

Save Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 for whenever you need 20-minute nostalgia episodes between other shows, it’s built for casual viewing, not a marathon.
