Gajab Raat OTT Release Date: Exciting News and Shocking Details on Where to Watch Manoj Bajpayee and Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Gripping Thriller!

Gajab Raat OTT release date is Friday, 23 October 2026, and the only place you can stream Manoj Bajpayee’s new crime thriller is Netflix. I am writing this on 21 October, which means the film is just two days away, and my inbox has the same three questions on repeat: when exactly does it drop, what is it about, and why did the title change?

In this guide I have put together the confirmed Gajab Raat OTT release date, the Gajab Raat Netflix release time question, the full Gajab Raat cast and characters list, the Gajab Raat story and plot as far as it has been revealed, and the complete timeline of how Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat after a months-long legal row. I am Khushi Vaid, and I have kept this piece to confirm facts and clearly labelled my own opinions, because a film that has not released yet cannot be honestly reviewed. My full verdict will be added right after I watch it.

When Is the Gajab Raat OTT Release Date and Where Can You Watch It?

Let me answer the question that brought you here. The Gajab Raat OTT release date is 23 October 2026, a Friday, and it is a direct-to-streaming film, which means there is no theatrical run at all.

Netflix is the exclusive platform. Since Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat, some older posts still carry the old title, so double-check what you read. If you are searching for the Gajab Raat OTT release date on Prime Video, JioHotstar or ZEE5, you can stop, because none of them have it.

Here are the numbers at a glance:

• Release date: 23 October 2026 (Friday)

• Platform: Netflix, exclusive

• Format: Direct-to-OTT Hindi film

• Genre: Crime suspense thriller

• Trailer released: 15 October 2026, which is 8 days before premiere

• Story timeframe: a single night

• Headline cast members named by Netflix and media reports: 7

The runtime, music director and cinematographer had not been announced in anything I could find as of today, so I am not going to guess them. If you want to follow more premieres like this, I keep a running list on our Upcoming Movies page, and every Netflix title we cover sits in the Netflix category.

What Is the Gajab Raat Netflix Release Time in India?

This is the second most searched doubt, and I want to be honest here. The Gajab Raat Netflix release time has not been officially announced in any source I checked.

Netflix usually makes its originals live at 12:00 AM Pacific Time, and on 23 October that works out to roughly 12:30 PM IST. Please treat that as a pattern, not a promise, because Netflix India sometimes adjusts timing for local titles.

My practical advice on the Gajab Raat Netflix release time:

• Open the Netflix app on the morning of 23 October and tap the “Coming Soon” tab.

• Press “Remind Me” on Gajab Raat so you get a notification the moment it goes live.

• Do not trust random “midnight release” posts on social media, because any Gajab Raat Netflix release time shown in a screenshot is unverified. Until Netflix confirms, the Gajab Raat Netflix release time is unconfirmed.

I will edit this section the moment Netflix posts an exact time, so bookmark this page. While you wait, our OTT News section has the latest streaming updates.

Gajab Raat Cast and Characters: Who Is Playing Whom?

The Gajab Raat cast and characters list is one of the biggest reasons this film is getting attention. It is an ensemble, which is why the trailer feels crowded in a good way. Here is what is confirmed:

One honest note: Shraddha Das is listed in some reports and left out of others, so I am including her as named by the National Herald and The Week, and I will correct this if Netflix publishes a different official list.

The Gajab Raat cast and characters line-up reunites Manoj Bajpayee with producer Neeraj Pandey after nearly a decade, and that reunion alone is the reason many of us are excited.

If you love watching Bajpayee in this kind of role, you will also enjoy our crime series and movies collection.

Gajab Raat Story and Plot: What We Know Without Spoilers

The Gajab Raat story and plot revolve around Ajay Dixit, played by Manoj Bajpayee, a corrupt cop whose life changes sharply when a young girl is thrown out of a speeding vehicle.

As he investigates, he is pulled into a tangle of conflicting statements, bribes on offer and what reports describe as international conspiracies. Netflix’s own description says his decision sets off a chain of events that plays out over one night.

What I like about the Gajab Raat story and plot on paper:

• One-night structure: the film promises roughly a single night of action, which usually means a tight, tense screenplay.

• Moral dilemma: the central question is whether a compromised cop chooses personal gain or what he believes is right.

• Many characters, one truth: Netflix’s trailer caption said many stories, many characters and just one night to reveal the truth.

Bajpayee has said he is drawn to characters who are hard to define, and that tells me the Gajab Raat story and plot will not be a simple good-cop-versus-bad-cop affair. Fans of this style can browse our Thriller category for similar picks.

How Ghooskhor Pandat Renamed Gajab Raat: The Full Timeline

Many readers only know that the film had a different name, so let me lay out how Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat, using dates from published reports.

• February 2026: Netflix announced the film under the title Ghooskhor Pandat.

• 3 February: A trailer was released on Netflix India’s YouTube channel.

• 6 February: An FIR was ordered against Neeraj Pandey, and Netflix was asked to take down the teaser.

• 10 February: After a writ petition in the Delhi High Court, Netflix said the title would be changed, and promotional material was ordered down.

• 12 February: The Supreme Court asked why a section of society should be denigrated through such a title and directed a change.

• 19 February: A bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan disposed of the writ petition after the producer’s affidavit said the title was withdrawn.

• 15 October 2026: The new name was revealed with the trailer, which is when everyone learned that Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat for good.

The objection, as reported, was that combining the word “pandat” with “ghooskhor” (bribetaker) was seen as harming the Brahmin community’s image. The makers told the court they were not contesting on free-speech grounds and withdrew the title out of respect for the court’s observations.

I think the fact that Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat before release shows the makers chose to avoid a longer fight, and the new name actually suits a one-night thriller well.

Who Is Behind the Camera: Ritesh Shah and Neeraj Pandey

The Gajab Raat story and plot are brought to screen by Ritesh Shah, who is best known as a screenwriter, and this is his directorial debut. Even after Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat, the same director and producer remain credited.

It is produced by Neeraj Pandey under his banner, and Pandey has already worked with Netflix on the Khakee franchise, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, and the recent series Taskaree. Bajpayee and Pandey previously collaborated on Special 26 and Aiyaary, so the creative chemistry is not new.

A small disclosure: a few outlets credit the direction to Neeraj Pandey, but most reports name Ritesh Shah as director and Pandey as producer, so I have used that.

My First-Person Take After Watching the Trailer

I watched the trailer more than once, and here is my honest opinion, which is an expectation and not a review. Bajpayee playing a morally grey cop is territory where he is very comfortable, and Saqib Saleem and Akshay Oberoi stand out in the cuts.

My excitement for the Gajab Raat cast and characters is high, and the Gajab Raat story and plot look gripping. My personal expectation meter, based only on the trailer, is 8 out of 10.

My two worries are pacing, because ensemble thrillers can sag in the middle, and how the film handles the sensitivity that surrounded its original title. I will judge both properly once I have seen the full film, and I will add a spoiler-free verdict here.

Should You Watch Gajab Raat on Release Weekend?

Here is a quick checklist to decide:

• Watch it if you like crime thrillers, ensemble casts, and Manoj Bajpayee in grey characters, since the Gajab Raat cast and character list is stacked.

• Plan: check the Gajab Raat Netflix release time in your app before you plan dinner.

• Wait for reviews if you dislike dense plots with many characters.

• Skip the noise: avoid spoiler threads on the night of the Gajab Raat OTT release date.

Because the Gajab Raat OTT release date falls on a Friday, expect heavy social media discussion by Saturday morning. If you want honest opinions after release, bookmark our Movie Reviews page.

Title row. Remember that Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat only after court proceedings in February 2026, so older posts and teasers may still show the earlier name.

My Release-Day Planner for Gajab Raat

Here is how I plan my own Friday, and you can copy it. First, I confirm the Gajab Raat Netflix release time inside the app instead of trusting a screenshot from social media. Second, I tell my family the Gajab Raat OTT release date is Friday, so the evening is booked.

Third, I read nothing about the ending, because the Gajab Raat story and plot work best when you go in cold.

Fourth, I keep a notebook for the Gajab Raat cast and characters, because ensemble thrillers reward viewers who track who is lying to whom. Fifth, I note the Gajab Raat Netflix release time again in my phone calendar so no reminder is missed.

Sixth, I compare the finished film against the trailer, since the Gajab Raat story and plot might surprise us in ways the promo did not show.

Conclusion

To sum up, the Gajab Raat OTT release date is 23 October 2026, Netflix is the only platform, and the Gajab Raat Netflix release time is still to be officially confirmed. The Gajab Raat cast and characters line-up is strong, the Gajab Raat story and plot promises a tense one-night moral dilemma, and the fact that Ghooskhor Pandat renamed Gajab Raat means the film now arrives without its biggest controversy hanging over the title. I will keep this page updated with the release time and my full review. Until then, set your reminder, avoid spoilers, and tell me in the comments who you are most excited to see.
