The film stars Aarushi Bajaj, Piyush Khati, Bianca Arora, and Ansh Duggal in the lead roles, and it is written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji. 

What I liked while reading up on this one is that it isn’t just another campus romance, it deals with first love, friendship, and the confusion of figuring out who you are in your early twenties, which is something a lot of us can relate to.  

Given that this is produced under Eternal Sunshine Productions, expectations are naturally a little higher, and it is one of the more talked-about Friday OTT Releases of this week among younger audiences.

2. Bakaiti Season 2 (ZEE5)

If you loved the chaotic, loud, but heart-warming first season, Season 2 of Bakaiti is easily one of the most anticipated Friday OTT Releases for family-drama lovers like me.  

The show follows the Kataria family from old Ghaziabad, lawyer Sanjay (Rajesh Tailang), his wife Sushma (Sheeba Chaddha), and their kids Naina (Tanya Sharma) and Bharat (Aditya Shukla), as they navigate financial struggles, sibling rivalry, and everyday middle-class drama with a lot of noise and a lot of love. 

What made Season 1 special was how it captured the emotional weight of a low family income without turning preachy, wrapping it inside sharp comic writing. Season 2 continues with the same core cast, and based on the setup from the first season, expect more of Naina and Chirag’s growing bond alongside the family’s ongoing money troubles. 

This is comfort-watch television, and it’s a strong pick among this week’s Friday OTT Releases if you want something light yet emotionally grounded.

3. Hunkkaar: The Roar (JioHotstar)

This one is heavier, and honestly, one of the boldest Friday OTT Releases of the week. Hunkkaar: The Roar is a socio-thriller web series starring Aneet Padda as 17-year-old Meenu Rawat, who accuses a powerful spiritual leader, Baapji (played by Raghubir Yadav), of sexual assault.

Directed by Navneet Behal and Vibhu Kashyap, the series takes on the difficult but important subject of power, faith, and the courage it takes to speak up against influential figures. 

Shows like this rarely get made in mainstream Hindi OTT space because of how sensitive and controversial the subject matter is, which is exactly why I think Hunkkaar deserves attention this week. If you enjoy socially driven, thought-provoking dramas rather than pure entertainment, this should be at the top of your Friday OTT Releases watchlist.

4. Mango Pachcha (JioHotstar)

Moving to the South, Mango Pachcha is a Kannada gangster drama making its digital debut as part of this week’s Friday OTT Releases.

It stars debutant Sanchith Sanjeev, nephew of Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep, as Prashantha, aka Pachcha, a young man drawn into Mysuru’s underworld through his late father’s business.  

Directed by Viveka, the film is set in the early 2000s and follows Pachcha’s rise within a local crime network alongside his brother, while family politics and a rival stepbrother complicate everything. 

The film originally released in theatres earlier this year and built a decent buzz thanks to Sanchith’s uncanny resemblance to his famous uncle, both physically and in screen presence. Now that it has landed on JioHotstar, it opens up to a much wider audience outside Karnataka, and it’s a solid choice this week if you enjoy regional gangster dramas with an emotional family core.

5. Unabomber (Netflix)

Out of all the Friday OTT Releases this week, Unabomber is the one true-crime fans should not miss. This Netflix film tells the real story of Ted Kaczynski, one of America’s most infamous domestic terrorists, with Jacob Tremblay playing the young Kaczynski and Russell Crowe playing Professor Henry Murray, the Harvard psychologist whose controversial experiments on Kaczynski are believed to have shaped his later radicalization.

Shailene Woodley plays FBI agent Joanne Miller, who leads the manhunt that, at the time, became the FBI’s longest and most expensive investigation. 

Directed by Janus Metz, the film moves between two timelines, Kaczynski’s formative years as a math prodigy at Harvard, and the decades-long investigation that finally led to his arrest. What drew me to this one is that it doesn’t just dramatize the bombings; it tries to explain the psychological unraveling behind them, which makes it feel closer to a character study than a typical crime thriller.  

This is, without doubt, one of the most talked-about Friday OTT Releases of September 2026.

6. The Final Problem (Netflix)

The last entry on this week’s Friday OTT Releases list is a Spanish period mystery that mystery lovers have been waiting months for, The Final Problem. Based on Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s bestselling novel, this limited series is set in spring 1959, where thirteen guests get stranded by a violent storm at a secluded hotel on an island near Mallorca.

When a quiet English tourist is found dead, what looks like a suicide quickly turns into a full-blown murder investigation. 

Jose Coronado plays Basil, a retired actor once famous for playing Sherlock Holmes on screen, who unexpectedly becomes the real-life investigator.

He teams up with an aspiring writer, Foxá (Martiño Rivas), while suspicion spreads among the guests, including the mysterious Adela Figueroa (María Valverde) and the sharp-eyed hotel manager, Mrs. Ausländer (Maribel Verdú).  

It’s a classic locked-room mystery, nobody can leave, nobody can arrive, and everyone is a suspect. If you’re a fan of slow-burn, twist-heavy whodunits, this is the pick of the week among all the Friday OTT Releases.
