The second week of May 2026 isn’t messing around. The Dhurandhar 2 OTT release date India is finally here, Inspector Avinash Season 2 is dropping on JioHotstar, Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary is available to stream, the Good Omens Season 3 finale is closing out one of Prime Video’s best-loved series, and Berlin Season 2 on Netflix is bringing the Money Heist universe back for a full-blown heist in Seville. Whether you cleared your weekend or you’re just looking for something decent after dinner, this week has something for every kind of viewer.

I went through everything dropping across Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and  JioHotstar this week and pulled out the titles genuinely worth your time. No filler. No padding. Just the stuff that matters, our weekly OTT watchlist with quick honest takes so you know what you’re getting into before you hit play.

Let’s get into it.

Best OTT Releases this Week May 2026 India

1. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge

OTT Release Date: May 14, 2026
Platform: JioHotstar (India) | Netflix (International)
Genre: Action, Spy, Thriller

After a record-breaking theatrical run, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is finally making its OTT debut. The Dhurandhar 2 OTT release date India is May 14, 2026 on JioHotstar, available to all subscribers at no extra cost.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film picks up the high-stakes espionage saga with bigger stakes, more brutal action, and Ranveer operating at a level of charisma that just can’t be contained on a phone screen, but you’ll try.

The international cut streaming on Netflix reportedly includes three additional minutes of footage under the “Raw and Undekha” label, which is a smart bit of marketing but also genuinely adds context to a couple of key scenes.

My Take: Dhurandhar 2 is exactly what it promises – relentless, slick, and occasionally breathless. It doesn’t reinvent the spy genre, but it’s the most entertaining Hindi action film to hit OTT in months. If you didn’t catch it in theatres, this weekend is your moment. If you did, the extended Netflix cut gives you a reason to revisit.

JWS Score: 8.5/10

2. Project Hail Mary

Release Date: May 12, 2026
Platform: Amazon Prime Video (Store/Rent)
Genre: Sci-Fi, Drama

Ryan Gosling carries basically the entire weight of this film on his shoulders and pulls it off. Based on Andy Weir’s beloved novel, Project Hail Mary follows an astronaut who wakes up alone on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or why he’s there. The science is dense, the pacing is deliberate, and the emotional beats land harder than you’d expect from a film that’s largely one man and some equations.

Worth noting: it’s currently under the Rent/Buy model on Prime Video, not included in standard subscription. And fair warning – the Project Hail Mary ending is the kind that sends you straight to the internet after the credits roll. We’ve got a full ending explained piece coming this week.

My Take: I’ll be upfront, I’ve been waiting for this one since the book. The film doesn’t disappoint. The third act in particular is something you’ll be thinking about for days. Rent it. It’s worth every rupee, and then some.

3. Good Omens Season 3

Release Date: May 13, 2026
Platform: Amazon Prime Video
Genre: Fantasy, Comedy, Drama

The end of an era. The final 90-minute special of Good Omens brings back Michael Sheen as Aziraphale and David Tennant as Crowley for one last battle to save humanity, this time from a Heaven-sanctioned apocalypse.

Aziraphale is now Supreme Archangel; Crowley is still on Earth and very much done with divine politics. The reunion at the centre of this finale is emotionally loaded in a way that fans of the series will absolutely feel in their chest.

My Take: As someone who’s followed this show since Season 1, this finale hits differently. It’s not perfect, 90 minutes feels slightly rushed for a story this big but the writing is sharp, the performances are extraordinary, and it closes the book in a way that feels earned. Watch with tissues nearby.

JWS Score: 8.8/10

4. The Punisher: One Last Kill

Release Date: May 12, 2026
Platform: JioHotstar
Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller

Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle in what’s being described as a Marvel Television Special Presentation, a standalone, feature-length story that co-writer Bernthal himself has called “the most psychologically complex, darkest version of the Punisher you’re going to see.”

Frank is trying to live without revenge. Predictably, that doesn’t go well. The MCU is using this as a test balloon for where the character goes next, and from what’s being said about it, the tone is far darker and more grounded than anything the franchise has attempted recently.

My Take: Bernthal as Punisher is one of those casting decisions that just works on a cellular level. If this leans as dark as promised, it could be the Marvel Special Presentation that actually lives up to the format’s potential. JioHotstar subscribers, don’t sleep on this one.

JWS Score: Awaiting Watch, Highly Anticipated

5. Inspector Avinash Season 2

Release Date & Time: May 15, 2026
Platform: JioHotstar
Genre: Crime, Drama, Action

Randeep Hooda is back as ASP Avinash Mishra and this season goes personal. His son is implicated in a murder, his marriage is on the edge of collapse, and the system he’s spent years serving has turned its back on him. He’s now a suspended cop hunting a weapons cartel led by the ruthless Devi and Sheikh, while simultaneously trying to save his own family from institutional rot.

If you’ve been wondering about the Inspector Avinash Season 2 release date and time on JioHotstar, it’s May 15, and the episodes drop at midnight. Season 1 had real grit. Season 2, from everything that’s landed, is leaning harder into the emotional stakes. If you liked Kohrra Season 2 on Netflix, this one is built from the same DNA

My Take: Inspector Avinash was one of JioHotstar’s better Hindi crime originals, and the personal stakes this season add a dimension that pure procedurals often lack. Hooda is phenomenal in this role, physically committed and emotionally raw. This is appointment viewing if you like your crime dramas with weight.

JWS Score: 8.2/10 (Early Impression)

6. Berlin and The Lady With Ermine

Release Date: May 15, 2026
Platform: Netflix
Genre: Crime, Heist, Drama

Money Heist’s most charismatic peripheral character finally gets another full season of his own. Pedro Alonso returns as Berlin, this time setting up the theft of Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic painting in Seville, with a personal revenge mission hidden underneath the heist.

Eight episodes, old-school Money Heist energy, and the kind of theatrical flair that made the original universe so bingeable. Creator Álex Pina is back, which matters.

My Take: Berlin Season 1 had mixed reactions, and Season 2 tightens the pacing which early reports suggest it does, this could be the show that converts the sceptics. Heist fans and Money Heist loyalists, block off your Saturday.

7. Kartavya

Release Date: May 15, 2026
Platform: Netflix
Genre: Crime, Thriller, Drama

Saif Ali Khan leads this investigative thriller as a cop. Beyond the marquee name, Kartavya is positioning itself as a message-driven crime drama, the kind Netflix India has been investing in consistently.

Details are still emerging, but the early buzz suggests it’s attempting something with institutional corruption at its core.

My Take: Saif in a cop role is a known quantity at this point, but the Netflix India crime space has proven it can surprise you (see: Kohrra, Jamtara). Cautiously optimistic. Will have a full review once I’ve watched it.

Why These Are the Best OTT Picks This Weekend (May 11-17, 2026)

This isn’t one of those weeks where you scroll for 45 minutes and give up. The OTT lineup for May 11-17, 2026 is genuinely stacked, and here’s what stands out: the variety is real, and the quality holds across genres.

You’ve got Dhurandhar 2 for the pure spectacle crowd, the OTT release date in India being May 14 on JioHotstar makes this the weekend’s biggest event for Hindi cinema fans. Project Hail Mary is for anyone craving smart, emotional sci-fi that respects its audience; the ending in particular is what people will be talking about (our full Project Hail Mary ending explained piece drops this week).

The Good Omens Season 3 finale on Prime Video is for those who’ve followed Aziraphale and Crowley through two seasons and a lot of emotional investment, our early take in this review is that it earns its closure. Inspector Avinash Season 2 on JioHotstar brings the gritty Hindi crime drama energy that made Season 1 one of the better originals on the platform. Berlin Season 2 on Netflix is the Money Heist spinoff you’ve been waiting for, Pedro Alonso in Seville, and yes, it’s as stylish as it sounds.

What makes this week particularly interesting from a platform standpoint is how distributed the wins are. JioHotstar, Prime Video, and Netflix each have at least one must-watch title. That’s not always the case. Usually one platform dominates a given week. This time, it’s genuinely competitive.

My personal picks for the weekend: Project Hail Mary first (that emotional gut-punch deserves your full attention on a clear evening), Good Omens Season 3 for a bittersweet but satisfying close, then Dhurandhar 2 for Sunday’s high-energy send-off. If you’re a crime drama person, slot Inspector Avinash Season 2 anywhere in there, it won’t disappoint.
