Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhava, which was initially scheduled to release on December 6, 2024, has now been postponed to February 14, 2025. The delay is primarily due to its clash with the highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun.
The new release date holds special significance, as it aligns with the celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on February 19, 2025. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhava portrays the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, and Rashmika Mandanna in a pivotal role.
The makers believe the new date will be a better fit for the film’s theme and ensure it avoids box office competition.
