After multiple delays, Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, her solo directorial debut, finally has a new release date. The film, a period political thriller, will hit theatres on January 17, 2025. Kangana shared a new poster on social media, featuring her as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, with Vishak Nair as her son Sanjay Gandhi, Anupam Kher as Jai Prakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Milind Soman as Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw.
In her caption, Kangana wrote: “17th January 2025 – The epic saga of the nation’s most powerful woman and the moment that altered India’s destiny. Emergency – Unveils Only in cinemas on 17.01.2025!”
This new date comes just ahead of Republic Day on January 26. However, Akshay Kumar‘s Sky Force, directed by Amar Kaushik, is already set for a Republic Day weekend release.
