Actor-entrepreneur Vivek Oberoi, known for his 2002 hit film Saathiya, shared that he will be the first to reach the theatre if the movie gets re-released. Recently, re-releasing films has become a popular trend, bringing back old hits to the big screen, and some even perform better than their original runs.
Oberoi made his debut in Company (2002), but Saathiya, directed by Shaad Ali and co-starring Rani Mukherjee, gained him widespread recognition. Speaking at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, he shared that meeting legendary lyricist Gulzar made him realize how the timeless songs of Saathiya have kept the movie alive in people’s memories. “Wherever I go, people still talk about Saathiya,” he said.
Oberoi also touched on his successful web series Inside Edge, hinting that fans should stay tuned for updates from the makers and directors about a potential new season.
