“Priya Dutt Loved Ranbir In Sanju But Had One Issue”

Priya Dutt, politician and sister of Sanjay Dutt, shared her thoughts about the movie Sanju. While she loved Ranbir Kapoor’s acting, she was unhappy with how the story was shown.
What Priya Dutt Said About Sanju
In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Priya said Sanju didn’t show the full story of her brother’s life. She felt there was not enough focus on their parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis. Instead, the movie focused too much on one friend, who was actually a mix of many friends.
Priya said, “The movie didn’t do justice to my mum and dad. Their bond with Sanjay could have been shown better.”
Priya Didn’t Tell Rajkumar Hirani
Priya said she wanted to tell Rajkumar Hirani how she felt, but didn’t. She believed the director had a different idea for the film. She said the movie became more for entertainment and missed showing the real struggles.
Priya added, “Ranbir played Sanju really well. But the movie didn’t feel like a true biopic. It was fun but didn’t show everything deeply.”
When she told Sanjay Dutt about her feelings, he simply said, “Now, what?”
About Sanju
Sanju, released in 2018, showed parts of Sanjay Dutt’s life—his drug problems, time in jail, and family ties. It was a big hit but also faced criticism for “whitewashing” his life.
Director Rajkumar Hirani defended the film, saying, “We showed the truth, including Sanjay keeping a gun and going to jail. There is no whitewashing.
