Karan Johar Sells 50% of Dharma to Adar Poonawalla

Adar Poonawalla has outpaced Reliance and Saregama to acquire a 50% stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. His company, Serene Entertainment, purchased the stake for ₹1000 crore, making him an equal co-owner with Johar.

Karan Johar shared his enthusiasm, saying this collaboration combines emotional storytelling with forward-thinking business strategies, honoring Dharma’s legacy while expanding its global reach.

Dharma Productions, founded by Yash Johar in 1976, is a leading production house known for iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
