Karan Johar Sells 50% of Dharma to Adar Poonawalla

Adar Poonawalla has outpaced Reliance and Saregama to acquire a 50% stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. His company, Serene Entertainment, purchased the stake for ₹1000 crore, making him an equal co-owner with Johar.

Poonawalla expressed excitement about the partnership, stating his goal to grow and scale Dharma to new heights. Karan Johar shared his enthusiasm, saying this collaboration combines emotional storytelling with forward-thinking business strategies, honoring Dharma’s legacy while expanding its global reach.

Dharma Productions, founded by Yash Johar in 1976, is a leading production house known for iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
