Actor Anupam Kher is reuniting with Game of Thrones star Iain Glen for his upcoming film Tanvi The Great. In a recent interview, Anupam shared how he convinced Iain to join the project.
Anupam, who previously worked with Iain Glen in the British series Mrs. Wilson, recalled how he approached the actor. He said, “Iain Glen is the only cast member whose name has been revealed so far. This happened when someone recorded a video at the airport and followed us to the shooting location, so we had to make it official.”
Talking about Iain’s role, Anupam said, “His character is very important in the film, and I wanted a well-known, talented international actor for the role. When I approached Iain, he asked for the script. After reading it, he immediately wanted to be part of the film.”
Tanvi The Great marks Anupam Kher’s return to directing after 22 years. He announced the film on his birthday on March 7 last year, describing it as a “musical story of passion, courage, innocence, and joy.” The film’s shooting began on Maha Shivaratri.
Anupam’s first directorial film was Om Jai Jagadish in 2002, featuring Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, and others.
The film’s music is composed by MM Keeravani, the Oscar-winning composer of RRR, and sound design is handled by Resul Pookutty.
Apart from Tanvi The Great, Anupam Kher is also acting in The Signature, Kaagaz 2, Vijay 69, and the Telugu film The India House.
