“Sourav Ganguly In ‘Khakee’? Neeraj Pandey Reacts”

Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey has dropped a hint about former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly making a cameo in the upcoming Netflix series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.

At the trailer launch event in Kolkata, Neeraj was asked about the rumors of Sourav’s appearance in the crime drama. With a smile, he replied, “As far as Sourav is concerned… keep looking.”

Neeraj also shared that his personal connection to Kolkata influenced the decision to set the series there. “I was born and brought up in Kolkata, so there was a personal bias,” he said.

Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, the series is a follow-up to Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (2022). Set in early 2000s Kolkata, it follows an IPS officer fighting crime, corruption, and political influence.

The show stars Bengali cinema icons Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Saswata Chatterjee. It is also the first Hindi drama with a fully Bengali cast.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter will premiere on Netflix on March 20.
