What The Royals Is About
The Royals tells the story of a prince and a self-made woman. Ishaan plays the prince, and he shared that shooting at the real City Palace in Udaipur helped him feel like real royalty.
Bhumi plays Sophia, a woman who has worked hard to become successful. She represents the new royalty of India — the startup founders and entrepreneurs. In the story, Sophia enters the world of old-time royal traditions and faces many surprises.
Bringing Rom-Coms Back
Romantic comedies were once a big part of Indian films and TV, but action and crime shows have taken over lately. The Royals is bringing back the charm of big, beautiful love stories. Rangita Pritish Nandy, the creator and producer of the show, said, “When was the last time you saw a grand romantic comedy set in palaces and boardrooms in India?”
