Akshay Kumar and newcomer Veer Pahariya’s movie Sky Force is releasing on January 24, just in time for the Republic Day weekend. The film, based on the 1965 India-Pakistan War, has already generated a lot of excitement, with strong bookings.
Within just three hours of ticket sales opening, the film sold over 18,375 tickets, making Rs 40 lakh for its opening day. As of now, the Hindi 2D version has grossed Rs 1.47 crore from 62,938 tickets sold, with an average ticket price of Rs 226. The IMAX 2D version earned Rs 6.37 lakh from 1,792 tickets, with an average ticket price of Rs 408.
In total, Sky Force has sold 64,730 tickets across 9,073 shows, earning a total of Rs 1.54 crore in advance bookings.
The movie tells the untold story of India’s first airstrike in the 1965 war. Veer Pahariya makes his acting debut as IAF officer T Vijaya, who goes missing in action, while Akshay Kumar plays his fellow officer KO Ahuja, who embarks on a mission to find him. Sky Force also stars Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan.
