‘Laapataa Ladies’ Chosen as India’s Entry for Oscars 2025″

Kiran Rao’s directorial ‘Laapataa Ladies’ has been chosen as India’s official entry for the 97th Academy Awards, taking place in March 2025! This heartwarming comedy, presented by Jio Studios and co-produced by Aamir Khan, has received immense love from both audiences and critics. The film tells the fun-filled story of two young brides who get separated on a train, leading to hilarious adventures and mistaken identities.

Kiran Rao expressed her joy, saying, “I’m deeply honoured that our film is India’s official entry for the Oscars. This is a testament to my team’s hard work, and I hope it connects with audiences worldwide, just as it has in India.”
