Actor Emraan Hashmi stars as a BSF officer in his new film Ground Zero, based on the real-life hero Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. The movie, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, tells the story of Dubey’s brave mission after the 2001 Parliament and Akshardham Temple attacks.
Emraan said the goal was to show an honest story without overdoing patriotism. He believes too much jingoism feels fake and makes the audience lose connection with the story. “We wanted drama, but also truth and honesty,” he shared.
The actor also mentioned how he met the real Dubey to understand his character better, avoiding any mimicry. Emraan explained that while drama is needed to keep the film exciting, it shouldn’t feel forced.
Ground Zero, also starring Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain, will release on April 25.
