Storyline:
“A Very Royal Scandal” is a three-part drama series from Amazon MGM Studios, set to air on Amazon Prime Video. It tells the dramatic story of Emily Maitlis’ journey leading up to her controversial 2019 interview with Prince Andrew on BBC Two’s Newsnight. Ruth Wilson plays Emily Maitlis, and Michael Sheen portrays Prince Andrew.

The series is produced by Blueprint Pictures and Amazon Studios. It is written by Jeremy Brock and directed by Julian Jarrold. Emily Maitlis is also an executive producer, along with Karen Thrussell, Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, Diarmuid McKeown, Jeremy Brock, and Julian Jarrold.
Background
This series follows the success of previous Amazon-produced dramas “A Very English Scandal” (2018) and “A Very British Scandal” (2021), which also focused on high-profile scandals.
