Actor Preity Zinta is tired of people linking her every move to politics. She feels it is stealing the small joys of her life. Recently, she made it clear that she has no plans to join BJP or any political party.
What Happened?
During a chat session with fans on X (formerly Twitter), someone asked Preity if she plans to join BJP. Preity quickly replied, saying, “That’s the problem with people on social media, everyone is being so judgmental lately.”
She explained that going to a temple or attending events like Maha Kumbh doesn’t mean she is entering politics. Preity said living outside India made her love and respect her home country even more.
Fan Clarified His Intentions
After her response, the fan said he didn’t mean to judge her and was just curious because of her recent tweets.
Preity Apologized
Preity then apologized for sounding rude. She said, “I’m sorry if I sounded abrupt! I have PTSD from this question.”
She also shared that after becoming a mother and living abroad, she wants her kids to know their Indian roots. Preity said her husband is agnostic, but they are raising their kids as Hindus.
She expressed sadness that her simple joy is often turned into a political issue and said she feels forced to keep explaining herself for being proud of her identity.
Preity’s Personal Life
Preity married Gene Goodenough in 2016. In 2021, they welcomed twins — a boy named Jai and a girl named Gia — through surrogacy.
