Police Breaks Big Drug Gang Linked to Pakistan
The Chandigarh Police have caught a big drug gang backed by Pakistan’s ISI. Nine people have been arrested, including the main leader, Gurmeet Singh from Punjab. The police seized about 313 grams of heroin and ₹5.12 lakh in drug money.
The gang used smart tricks to smuggle heroin across the India-Pakistan border. They pushed drug packets through water pipes near the fencing when BSF soldiers were not around. After that, people in India picked up the packets. Each person who picked up the packets was paid ₹1.5 lakh per delivery.
The gang had strong ties with smugglers from Pakistan’s Kasur area. They had been active since 2019, and over five years, they reportedly smuggled more than 100 kg of heroin into India.
Police also found that Gurmeet Singh was friends with a Pakistani smuggler on Facebook, showing how they stayed connected.
