“Priyanka Chopra Joins ‘Anuja’ As Exec Producer”

Priyanka Chopra has joined the Oscar-shortlisted film Anuja as an executive producer, expressing her excitement about the project. The film tells the story of a nine-year-old girl named Anuja, who works in a garment factory with her sister, Palak. It focuses on the tough choices Anuja faces for her future and her family.

Priyanka shared her pride in being a part of such a meaningful film, saying, “Anuja shines a light on a subject that affects millions of children worldwide.” She added that the film is a powerful reminder of how choices shape lives.

The film was produced with the Salaam Baalak Trust, Shine Global, and Krushan Naik Films, with Mindy Kaling also involved. Oscar winner Guneet Monga is also a producer, marking her third possible Oscar nomination.

Anuja is competing for an Oscar alongside another Indian film, Santosh, which is the UK’s official entry for the Oscars.
