Aliya Fakhri, the 43-year-old sister of actress Nargis Fakhri, has been arrested in connection with the deaths of her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and his friend Anastasia Ettienne. The tragic incident occurred in Queens, New York, when Aliya allegedly set fire to a detached garage on November 2.
The victims, who died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, were trapped inside. Aliya has been indicted on murder and arson charges, facing a possible life sentence if convicted.
Despite the serious charges, Aliya’s mother has defended her, saying she doesn’t believe her daughter would commit such an act. She mentioned Aliya’s struggle with opioid addiction following a dental accident, which may have contributed to her actions.
