Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, known for playing India’s original superhero Shaktimaan, excited fans with the announcement of the character’s return. However, when rumors spread that this was a response to actors like Ranveer Singh stepping into the role, Mukesh took to his X handle to clear the air.
In a post late Wednesday night, Mukesh shared a picture of himself in the Shaktimaan costume with the caption, “Lo main aa gaya” (“Here I come”). He explained, “I am already Shaktimaan. There can only be one Shaktimaan, and I am that Shaktimaan. The legacy of Shaktimaan is mine to create.”
Mukesh also clarified that he wasn’t trying to compete with anyone, including Ranveer Singh. “I am not here to prove I’m better than anyone who may take on the role of Shaktimaan in the future,” he said.
