Kangana on Emergency Ban: ‘Chote Mote Logo Ne Aag Lagayi’

Actor Kangana Ranaut recently spoke about her film Emergency not being released in Punjab. On Instagram, Kangana shared a video addressing this issue and the protests happening in Canada and Britain against the film.

In the video, Kangana thanked her fans for their support, saying, “The love you’ve shown to Emergency is overwhelming. We are deeply grateful.” However, she expressed sadness about the situation in Punjab, stating, “Punjab was always considered one of the best-performing regions for my films. But today, my film isn’t even allowed to release there.”

Kangana also mentioned protests abroad, saying, “Similar attacks are happening in Canada and Britain. A few individuals have started this fire, and now we are all affected by it.” She urged people to watch the film to decide if it unites or divides, adding, “This movie reflects my principles and my love for my country.”

Kangana concluded by saying, “I won’t say more. Thank you for your support.” She shared the video with the caption, “Immense gratitude for all the love for Emergency. In cinemas now.”

Protests in Punjab and Abroad

In Punjab, the film wasn’t screened due to protests by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Sikh organizations, who called for a ban on the movie. Demonstrations were held outside cinemas, multiplexes, and malls across the state.

In London, pro-Khalistan extremists reportedly stormed a cinema in Harrow to stop the film’s screening, according to ANI.

Despite the controversies, Kangana remains hopeful that viewers will judge the film fairly.
