Varun Dhawan and Atlee’s highly anticipated film, Baby John, failed to perform at the box office, earning ₹60.4 crore globally against its massive ₹180 crore budget. Jackie Shroff, who played the antagonist, opened up about the film’s poor reception. He expressed concern for the producers, saying, “The producers put in a lot of money with trust in these projects. When they don’t recover it, that’s sad. As actors, we do our job with sincerity, but it’s tough when the film doesn’t succeed.”
Baby John, a remake of Atlee’s Theri, featured stars like Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, and Jackie Shroff alongside Varun Dhawan. Despite its stellar cast, the film struggled at the box office, earning only ₹39.34 crore in India.
Jackie Shroff is now looking ahead to his next project, Baap, with Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, and Sunny Deol. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is preparing for his upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, set to release on April 18, 2025.
