Farhan Akhtar Calls Shooting In Ladakh ‘Special’

Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar always goes the extra mile for his movies, and Ladakh is one of his favorite places to shoot. From his first film as a director, Lakshya, starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, to his upcoming movie 120 Bahadur, where he plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, Ladakh has a special place in his heart.
Farhan loves using real locations instead of green screens, even though it comes with challenges. He said, “I love Ladakh, and shooting at real places is always better. Technology has improved a lot and helps filmmakers, but filming in Ladakh was easier this time because it’s more production-friendly now. When we shot Lakshya years ago, the roads were bad, and there were hardly any facilities. Getting to Ladakh was very tough.”
Farhan also shared how difficult it was to shoot Lakshya in Ladakh back then. “There were no mobile phones, and communication was really hard. We had to plan everything the night before because we couldn’t change anything during the shoot,” he said. This time, it was much easier to communicate and make changes.
He also remembered filming parts of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in Ladakh in 2012 but said that this time, it was a longer schedule. “It was incredibly special, and I have zero complaints about being there,” he added.
