“Bollywood Stars Share Their Favorite 2024 Movies”

Indian actors Kareena Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao, Shabana Azmi, Kani Kusruti, Anna Ben, and Pratik Gandhi have shared their favorite Indian movies of 2024. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, they picked films that inspired or moved them.

Kareena’s picks included her co-producer Kiran Rao’s film Laapataa Ladies, which was India’s official Oscar entry but didn’t make it to the shortlist. She also chose her brother-in-law Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut Madgaon Express and her own film The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta.

Vicky Kaushal selected Stree 2, which became a huge hit, crossing ₹600 crore at the Indian box office. He also loved the Tamil film Maharaja and the Malayalam survival thriller Manjummel Boys.

Rajkummar Rao’s favorites were Madgaon Express, Meiyazhagan (a Tamil dramedy), and Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life, a Malayalam survival drama starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Pratik Gandhi’s list included All We Imagine As Light, The Buckingham Murders, and Maharaja.

Shabana Azmi praised Girls Will Be Girls, a coming-of-age film about a girl’s sexual awakening. Anna Ben also loved Girls Will Be Girls and picked Brahmayugam (a Malayalam horror film) and Maharaja.

Kani Kusruti chose Ullozhukku (a Malayalam film), Aattam, and the upcoming comedy Sister Midnight.
