In a recent interview, Anshula Kapoor shared her experience of coping with her parents’ divorce, Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie. She recalled how it was tough, especially when people started questioning their family values and upbringing.
Anshula explained, “Growing up in the 90s, no one knew what to say when my parents separated. People started talking about our family… I withdrew into myself, trying to understand this ‘new normal.’”
Reflecting on her childhood, she spoke about how her mother, Mona Shourie, became a “one-person army” after the separation. “Mom was not just the caretaker but also the breadwinner, lovegiver, and problem solver. She was both parents in one,” Anshula shared.
